Will I be charged a fee to pay my rent online?

If you pay your rent with a checking or savings accounts it is free. However, effective 1/1/2021, there is a 2.5% convenience fee to pay your rent with a credit card or debit card. 

What type of device can I use to pay my rent online?

You can use a desktop computer, laptop/notebook, tablet or smartphone. The website is responsive and automatically recognizes and adjusts the size of the screen on the device that is being used.  WARNING:  Use of public computers and/or public Wi-Fi are more vulnerable to cyber attack. Please use a secure connection when making payments online.

What days of the month can I pay my current rent?

Your current rent can be paid any day of the month, including weekends and holidays.  However, payments processed after the eighth day of the month will be delinquent, which may include starting eviction proceedings for non-payment of rent.  

Can I schedule a future rent payment online?

Yes, but it cannot be eight days beyond the due date.

Can I make a partial rent payment online?

No.  The website will have the full amount due, which is found on your current rent statement and cannot be changed.

How can I cancel my rent payment?

You must call and leave a message on Tenant Accounting’s voicemail line (330-252-9260) by 4:00PM of the same business day, you completed your transaction.  You can also email Tenant Accounting at Tenant_Accounting@AkronHousing.Org. Transactions completed after 8:00PM will become the next day’s business.  AMHA will be unable to cancel transactions completed from 4:00PM to 8:00PM.

What will happen if my payment is rejected due to non-sufficient funds?

AMHA would follow its procedure on aging delinquencies which may include starting eviction proceedings for non-payment of rent.
