Chester!
Chester, an 88-year old AMHA resident and Korean War veteran, was thrilled to be able to receive his first COVID vaccination on February 4 at Summit County Public Health (SCPH).
When he heard that the vaccine would help protect him from COVID-19, Chester decided to sign up for an appointment.
Appointments at SCPH filled within minutes of being available, but Chester turned to AMHA Resident Services staff to help him get a slot.
According to the CDC, studies show that COVID-19 vaccines are effective at keeping you from getting COVID-19. The CDC also reports that experts think that getting a
COVID-19 vaccine may help keep you from getting seriously ill even if you do get COVID-19.
“I was convinced that was what I needed to do," he said. "I was happy and satisfied that I did what I needed to prevent getting the virus. I’m relieved I got it done and I did what I was supposed to.”
