BFT COVID-19 Data

As our community is opening back up, we are as well. We are taking the necessary precautions to make sure that our staff, residents and community stay safe. While we have not stopped serving our community, we are adjusting our practices and are still working out the many details. But what we are certain of, is that we are facing substantial loss of funding for ALL of our essential programs:

•       Our Early Childhood Initiative programs are anticipating a cut of approximately $100,000 from grant funds, this equals at least one full time staff person

•       The Reach Opportunity Center at Summit Lake has cancelled all large fundraising events and we anticipate a loss of at least $75,000

•       ConnectHome Akron is already operating on the generosity of corporate partners, but we are running out of digital devices and sponsorships

We will feel the impact of these financial issues for the long-term and we are worried. These programs are vital to our community and serve those most in need. To cut services to our most vulnerable will further inequalities in school readiness, economic mobility and equal access. We hope we can count on your generosity to ensure that we can maintain operations.
